About this Event
An invitation to slow down, create freely, and discover what unfolds.
When was the last time you gave yourself permission to create something without worrying about the outcome?
No expectations. No perfection. Just the pleasure of making something with your hands.
The Mandala Within is an intimate, two-hour creative experience combining sound, stillness, and mixed-media artmaking, surrounded by the luminous installations of LED artist Janet Hansen.
Inspired by the intricate geometry and ever-changing colors of Janet's illuminated mandalas, this workshop invites you to explore the circle as a starting point for your own creative expression.
Led by multidisciplinary artist Judy Berberian, we'll begin with gentle breathwork and the resonant sounds of crystal singing bowls, allowing the noise of everyday life to settle and making room for curiosity and imagination.
From there, each participant will begin creating their own personal mandala on a blank circular foundation.
You'll have access to a colorful collection of art materials, including watercolors, colored pencils, markers, chalk pastels, collage papers, natural elements, and more. Experiment with patterns, textures, shapes, and colors, combining materials in whatever way inspires you.
Geometric guides and stencils will be available, but there are no designs to copy and no rules about what your mandala should look like.
Then comes the heart of the experience: an uninterrupted hour of quiet creation.
No conversation, no distractions, no instructions to follow. Just you, your imagination, and the freedom to see where the creative process takes you.
We'll conclude by gathering together to share our creations, discoveries, and experiences. Sharing is always optional.
Everyone begins with a circle. What emerges will be entirely their own.
