Roles Available: Various male and female roles, ages 18–70Requirements: Cold readings from the script will be provided. You may also present a prepared monologue. Please keep the monologue to less than 2 minutes.
NOTE: All actors who are cast will be playing multiple roles. There may also be understudy / swing cast.

Aaron McKinney – One of Matthew’s murderers, a 21-year-old roofer, whose homophobic motives drive the crime
Russell Henderson – Co-perpetrator of the murder, involved in the assault and abandonment of Matthew
Dennis Shepard – Matthew’s father, who publicly forgives the perpetrators and advocates against the death penalty
Reggie Fluty – Police officer who discovers Matthew tied to the fence and provides initial medical assistance
Aaron Kreifels – University student who finds Matthew and calls for help
Catherine Connolly – University of Wyoming professor and openly lesbian faculty member, representing the LGBTQ+ perspective in the town
Jedadiah Schultz – Theater student who interacts with the Tectonic Theater Project and provides insight into the town’s youth.

The Baptist Minister – Represents conservative religious views in Laramie, often expressing opposition to homosexuality
Father Roger Schmit – Catholic priest in Laramie, offering a religious perspective on the events
Stephen Mead Johnson – Unitarian minister advocating for acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals
Roma Patterson – Friend of Matthew Shepard, providing personal context and emotional depth
Matt Galloway – Bartender at the Fireside Bar, one of the last to see Matthew alive
