Melody Eperson is a Colorado artist working in encaustic and cold wax, exploring human connection, memory, and loss through curiosity and wonder. Her work reflects both the beauty and fragility of our connection to the land. Wax, delicate and strong, has become a way to uncover deeper meaning in her art and in herself.
Workshop Title: The Land Remembers Our Names
This is a collaborative art project documenting the first family member to arrive in Colorado. Visitors will trace their own family's timeline, tracing back to who first arrived in the state.
As we celebrate Colorado's 150th anniversary, this project recognizes both the short time most of us have inhabited this land and the impact our population growth has had on it.
Visitors will be invited to use sustainable pigments to paint a tag and write their family member's name on it, then hang that tag onto a wall graph. Organized chronologically, the graph will grow into a colorful timeline of Colorado's population.
