Online or In Person
** Please note this is a multi-day training. Ensure you are available for the whole session. Dates and times are in the ticketing link. **
The Inner Limbs is a 15-hour training designed to deepen your understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga and help you live, embody, and teach them in ways that feel relevant, meaningful, and real.
Too often, the 8 limbs are taught as a list to memorize or a philosophy lesson that feels disconnected from modern life. This training offers a more grounded and embodied approach. Together, we will explore how these teachings can become lived practices that shape not only how we teach yoga, but how we relate to ourselves, others, challenge, discipline, presence, and purpose.
This is not about becoming more performative or trying to live as some ideal version of a “good yogi.” It is about understanding the heart of these teachings and learning how to integrate them in ways that are honest, practical, and deeply supportive.
Throughout this training, we will explore each of the 8 limbs with both depth and accessibility, bringing ancient wisdom into conversation with modern life, modern teaching, and real human experience.
What you will learn:
• A deeper understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga and how they fit into the broader path of yoga
• The yamas and niyamas as living practices, not just concepts, and how they influence how we move through the world
• How asana fits within the 8-limbed path and why yoga is about more than posture
• The role of pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi in both personal practice and teaching
• How to make the philosophical teachings of yoga feel relevant and accessible to modern students
• How to embody these teachings in a way that feels authentic rather than rigid or performative
• How to integrate the 8 limbs into class themes, language, sequencing, meditation, breathwork, and reflection
• How to teach yoga philosophy in a way that is grounded, meaningful, and connected to lived experience
• How the limbs can support greater self-awareness, compassion, discipline, presence, and inner steadiness
• How to bridge the gap between yoga as something we do in class and yoga as a way of living
This training includes:
• Study and discussion of the 8 limbs
• Study and discussion of yogic texts
• Reflection and self-inquiry
• Practical application for teaching
• Class theme and integration ideas
• Experiential practices
• Opportunities to connect philosophy with modern life and real teaching situations
By the end of this training, participants will leave with a richer understanding of the 8 limbs, a more embodied relationship to yoga philosophy, and practical tools for integrating these teachings into their classes and their lives.
The Inner Limbs is for those who want to go beyond surface-level teaching and into the deeper heart of yoga.
