About this Event
Rome on screen. Piadina and wine at your table.
Some films you watch. Others you step into. La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty) is one of them.
On Friday, October 23, Piadinaneria hosts a screening of Paolo Sorrentino’s Oscar-winning portrait of Rome, one of the most celebrated Italian films of the 21st century. Settle in with a freshly made piadina and a glass of wine, and let the city work its magic.
The story
Jep Gambardella is a charming, sharp-tongued journalist who has spent decades as the soul of Rome’s high society. He moves through grand palazzos, moonlit terraces and extravagant parties, until one question starts to follow him everywhere: what is real beauty? Stunning, funny and quietly moving, the film is a love letter to Rome, and to the passing of time.
No film background needed. If you’ve never seen it, this is the perfect introduction. If you have, you’ll know why it’s worth seeing again.
