About this Event
Grab your t-shirts and tennis rackets, sweaters and sketchbooks, pinafores and puzzles: it’s time for our clothes and hobbies swap.
Have hobby gear, games, books, sports equipment, art supplies, or craft materials you just aren’t going to use? Bring them to the swap so someone else can.
The Good Swap is supported by the City of Toronto through Live Green Toronto and the Neighbourhood Climate Action Grants program.

HOBBY ITEM GUIDELINES
Please only bring hobby items that are clean, safe, complete enough to use, and easy for someone else to take home.
- Limit: 2 regular sized grocery bags
- Yes: art supplies, craft materials, fabric, yarn, beads, books, puzzles, board games, small sports gear, stationery, tools, patterns, kits, and hobby accessories.
- No: broken items, missing pieces, dried-out supplies, sharp/unprotected tools, large equipment, electronics, chemicals, used personal care items, anything dirty, anything scented, or anything that needs repair before it can be used.
- Please bundle loose pieces together. If something has multiple parts, package them in a bag or box and label it.
- Size and weight limit. Please only bring hobby items that one person can comfortably carry on public transit. No large, heavy, or bulky items, including furniture, large appliances, big sports equipment, oversized frames, or anything that needs a car to move.
CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES GUIDELINES
- Bring 10 clothing items or fewer. Please respect our item limit.
- Check your items. No holes, stains, missing parts, or broken pieces. Everything should be clean, folded, in useable condition, and ready to be loved again.
- Use scent-free soap. Wash items before bringing them
AT THE SWAP
- Be kind. Treat everyone with respect and care.
- Respect boundaries. Give people space. Don’t hoard. Try things on as you go so others can browse items you decide not to keep.
- Don’t hover. Keep the drop-off table clear and let volunteers place items before looking through them.
- No dumping. The end-of-life care of your items is your responsibility.
- Take to wear, not to sell. Please only take what you (or someone you know) will actually use.
- Keep it simple. Don’t do stuff that makes us write more rules.

DISCLAIMERS
Swap at your own risk
The swap is a high-traffic event, which increases the chance of germs or pests spreading. We ask that all swappers wash items in scent-free soap before bringing them, and only attend if they are in good health. Please note that we cannot guarantee the condition of items or the outcomes of any swap. Take precautions: wear a mask if you wish, use hand sanitizer, and wash your items once you get home.
Lost or stolen items
We cannot take responsibility for garments donated or swapped, and accept no liability for any claim or loss resulting from transactions at the event.
