One city. A whole lot of voices. A scene ready to reconnect.Whether you're a poet, a performer, an open mic host, a community builder, or simply someone who loves art and creative energy this one's for YOU!
MEET & GREET (5:00-6:00)
Got an open mic? Bring your people! Share your space, your vibe, and what makes your community special. Meet other hosts, discover new creative homes, and connect with the folks keeping our city's arts scene alive.
We'll share drinks, snacks, and stories with people we may be meeting for the first time but already have something in common with: a love of art, community, and expression.
OPEN MIC (6:00-6:30)
A low-stakes space to share your work, enjoy your neighbors' creativity, and experience the unique voices around our city. No judgment, no pressure — just art, expression, and inspiration. You never know who might blow your mind or become your new favorite artist!
POETRY SLAM! (6:30-8:00)
Out of the notebook, and on to the stage!
A good ol' fashioned Poetry Slam (with CA$H PRIZES for the top 3 placers) is headed to GR. Artists are encouraged to bring their best sh*t and go head-to-head with the most talented poets around. Build your network, build your craft, and enjoy a night of some of the hardest-hitting words in West Michigan.
Michigan was once a hot spot for slam poetry, and we're ready to remind the world:
POETRY NEVER LEFT WEST MICHIGAN. We're still here. Still creating. Still making sh*t that'll blow your mind.
COME TO CONNECT.
COME TO CREATE.
COME TO COMPETE.
COME BUILD THE SCENE.
Let's celebrate our voices, strengthen our communities, and get the whole creative scene in the room!
