The Floor is Yours

The Floor is Yours! is a one of a kind of event that combines conscious dance and the opportunity to perform or showcase your creative talents.

The core idea being that the dance will relax and connect us creating a safe and warm container in which to express and share our wonderful talents.

Hosted at OMUK, a one of a kind venue in London, and a perfect one for our vision. Often described as a cross between a house party and club, the building is a combination of self contained dancefloor with soundsystem and chillout space with kitchen and dining area.

The night starts with a two hour conscious dance journey in the sonic womb of OMUK. A curated set moving through different shades of colour and emotion will form the backdrop for people to move freely and express themselves without reservation or judgement.

Once we are all connected and relaxed we will move on to the second part of the evening. For the final two hours we will move to the stage and people who have signed up to perform will have five minutes to showcase their creative talents.

What makes this slightly different from a traditional open mic is that it's not restricted to music or poetry but any kind of expression. Stand up? visual art? acting? mime? whatever it is you'll find a safe and welcoming space to perform your art. Once we have finished we will move upstairs where we have until 9pm to talk and connect over fruit and tea in the lounge area of OMUK.
