“The Family Farm” is an art exhibit of paintings by Lucas K. Barrett featuring scenes of Bretwood Golf Course, in Keene, New Hampshire. In 2020, after a professional career in corporate America lost its allure, Lucas decided to quit and take up art professionally. After focusing on portraits and figures for a few years, and struggling to find an audience, he pivoted to landscape painting. There was no better place to practice landscapes than back home at the family farm, known to the public as Bretwood Golf Course.
Mostly self taught, Lucas’ art style is born from the instruction of mentors, hereditary influence, and years of solitary practice. Expect bold abstract landscapes mixed among realist representations. They are all the product of an artist who loves the subject like a member of his family.
