About this Event
James Levac and The Extremely Solo Piano Concert!
I’m performing a concert on Saturday, October 24 at 8 PM at 140 Dawes Road in Toronto.
It’s called THE EXTREMELY SOLO PIANO CONCERT.
And there’s a little more to it than just a piano concert.
The evening begins with a short film about the rather improbable journey I took with my piano trike — travelling across the landscape and eventually across Lake Ontario with a piano mounted on the back of a tricycle.
You’ll see the journey.
Then I’ll play my own fully restored, impeccably tuned grand piano — an instrument made right here in Toronto in the 1890s.
I’ll be joined by:
Bonnie Memphis — singer and guitarist performing 1950s and 1960s oldies, the roots of rock ’n’ roll and traditional roots music.
Shraddha Pai — singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose music brings together classic jazz, swing, Paris café and Bollywood.
Fabrice Sicco — accordionist and composer whose subtle, melodious playing transports audiences to the cafés of Paris.
Cheryl O — cellist, composer and improviser known for blending classical cello with ambient, experimental and electronic sounds.
Jimmie Lee Burton — special guest.
Once your payment is received your name will be placed on the guest list. On October 24, just show up and give your name at the door - no ticket or phone confirmation is required.
There are only 100 of these $42.50 tickets, so once they're gone, they're gone.
The building is wheelchair accessible.
