About this Event

The Crossroads of Native Country: Indigenous Peoples Day Parade
Monday, October 12, 2026 · 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
City Park · 2001 Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO

This land has long been a crossroads where Nations from across Turtle Island meet, trade, and gather. On Indigenous Peoples Day, that tradition moves through City Park as a parade honoring the cultures, families, and living traditions of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island (North America).

Everyone is welcome. This parade is open to Native and non-Native community members alike: families, neighbors, students, allies, and visitors to Denver. It is a celebration of the many Indigenous cultures of Turtle Island, and all are invited to take part.

Two Ways to Take Part

  • Watch from the route. Find a spot anywhere along the roughly 1.4-mile parade route and cheer as walkers and floats pass by.
  • Join the parade. Walk with the procession from the staging area near Denver East High School, along the City Park Esplanade, and through City Park. Parade Registration - https://forms.gle/XtFcGf3ZeRj2yE9ZA

The Parade Route

  • Staging and start: Near Denver East High School, at the south end of the City Park Esplanade
  • Route: North along the Esplanade across E 17th Ave into City Park, looping west toward York St, then east past Ferril Lake
  • Finish: Walkers turn into City Park and The Living Land Area; floats continue ahead and stage along the road. Here we will arrive just in time for opening ceremonies of the Crossraods of Native Country Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration.

The Celebration Continues

The parade leads directly into a larger Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration in City Park near the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, with community gathering, culture, and connection continuing after the procession.
