About this Event
Language creates reality. When we confuse physical dependence with a complex behavioral disorder, we don’t just misuse medical terms . . . we create barriers to care. Join us for a practical breakdown of how Substance Use Disorder is actively diagnosed and treated.
The information session begins promptly at 10:05 and will last about 20 minutes. The remaining time is available for attendees to ask questions, present concerns, share about their practice, and connect with other professionals.
Host: Amber Edwards will be leading the discussion. She has worked as part of a clinical care team in the drug and alcohol field for nearly ten years, and has been working as a Reiki therapist that specializes in addiction recovery for six years. She has received extensive training through DDAP, Ken Montrose, PA Harm Reduction Network, and the Lighthouse Learning Collective.
