We are moving away from the word “swap” because this event has never really been about trading one item for another. It is about neighbors sharing what they have and families freely taking home what they can use.
Same community spirit. Same completely free event. Just a name that better describes what we have been doing all along. ❤️
Join us for our fifth annual Buy Nothing community event, where families can browse and take home gently used toys, books, and games.

1:30 PM to 3:30 PM
Buy Nothing members only
3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Open to the public
The first two hours are reserved for members of local Buy Nothing groups.
If you would like to attend during the member portion, we highly encourage you to find and join your local Buy Nothing group ahead of time.
No donation is required for member entry.

🧸 HOW IT WORKS
No donation is required to attend or take items.
You do not need to bring something in order to take something.
There is no trading required.
Everything is shared freely with the community.
Advance donation drop off is strongly preferred so our volunteers have time to sort and set everything up before the event.
🎁 WHAT TO EXPECT
Browse the tables and take home items your family can use.
You can expect gently used:
🧸 Toys
📚 Books
🎲 Games
Items will be available while supplies last.
Please bring a reusable bag if you can. Paper bags will also be available.
Any items remaining after the event will be donated back into the community.
📦 DONATIONS
Donations can be dropped off at the Richmond Street Dairy Queen during business hours.
Or
private message the host, Beatriz Jarvis, for private residence north Appleton drop off.
Please help our volunteers by checking all donations carefully before dropping them off.
Donations MUST be clean and free of dust, animal hair, and dirt for the health and safety of our volunteers.
Items that are dirty, broken, unsafe, unusable, or not appropriate for children cannot be distributed and will be discarded.
We cannot accept:
🚫 Clothes or shoes
🚫 Dirty items
🚫 Broken items
🚫 Unsafe or unusable items
🚫 Items not appropriate for children
💡 Can’t drop off ahead of time?
You may still bring your donations with you on the day of the event. Please sort them into the correct area when you arrive.
🛍 SAFETY AND SHOPPING REMINDERS
Because of previous concerns with limited space and safety hazards:
🚫 No double strollers
🚫 No wagons
Single strollers are welcome.

Everything is free, and donating is never required to participate.
