About this Event
The Big Think is a festival of ideas for high school students, hosted by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University. Together, we'll explore how making sense of the world is a human and social thing.
Across all three Massey campuses this November, staff, students and graduates will share how the humanities and social sciences help us to understand what it means to be human, to live with others, and to act with care and purpose in a fast-moving, technology-infused, and often demanding world.
From communication and media to psychology, philosophy, planning, ethics, creative writing, emergency management, and even what we can learn about today’s world from history and classics, The Big Think shows how human-centred thinking helps us navigate change, make better decisions, and thrive in contemporary society.
You'll meet Humanities and Social Sciences staff, graduates and current students who will share their study and career journeys. Then, you'll get to have a go yourself, in a wide range of interactive workshops, from broadcast journalism skills to beta-testing a new psychology-based game to hacking the gaps in Wikipedia.
The skills that will future-proof you are human: come discover yours with us.
