THE BIG ASHTRAY
A film by Vasco Sousa
51 min. · 2026
In a closed room, a man prepares for the arrival of an unknown figure who promises eternal rapture.
Shot in Brooklyn over six days in 2022 and completed four years later, The Big Ashtray is a handmade film about solitude, misery, memory, and the passage of time.
Join us for a special New York preview at Film Noir Cinema on November 11, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers moderated by Emma Broadbent, and an after-party reception.
Every ticket includes a limited-edition The Big Ashtray zine.
