Take a seat, start a conversation, and help make a difference!We are proud to welcome the Befriending Bench back to Cornmill Shopping Centre! In partnership with Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington, this designated space is here to tackle local loneliness by encouraging shoppers to stop, sit, and have a chat.
Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges facing older people today, and a simple interaction can brighten someone’s whole day.
On the third Thursday of every month, the Age UK team will be on-site to offer:
Friendly Chat: A moment of companionship for anyone feeling isolated.
Support Services: Find out about local support and companionship programmes.
Volunteering: Learn how you can make a difference by joining the befriending team.
