For our November lecturer we are delighted to welcome back a regular to Stirling, retired country GP and accredited Arts Society Lecturer Dr. James Grant. James is passionate about medicine and it's art.This time James will be speaking on art created from adversity.
The horrors of the coronovirus epidemic have, just as in previous centuries, been a source of inspiration to countless artists. In contrast to the altarpieces and the secular paintings of the plague and previous epidemics, our 21st century pandemic has led to an outpouring of remarkable street art.
This lecture looks at the fascinating similarities and differences in pandemic artistic output over the centuries. It also looks at how such art can provided great comfort and consolation.
We welcome new members who wish to join and guests (guest fee £12 on the door). All welcome.
