About this Event
The "All About Princeton" Walking Tour!
A 90-minute, historical and witty introduction to the campus, the town, and the people who made Princeton famous! On this brisk stroll we'll take you to some of the most noteworthy and picturesque spots on the Princeton University campus: Nassau Hall, the Princeton University Chapel, Prospect Gardens, the Princeton University Art Museum, and beyond.
We'll tell you all our favorite stories, including...
• What happened in the days AFTER George Washington famously crossed the Delaware River in 1776. (Hint: they’re marching to Princeton!)
• Why Albert Einstein chose to live in New Jersey for the final decades of his brilliant life (believe it or not, it WASN’T because he was offered a job at Princeton University!)
• How Princeton University alumni continue to shape the world we live in (think: Supreme Court Justices, business leaders and philanthropists, literary greats, athletes, stars of stage and screen, and more!)
…and you’ll learn about more famous folks who spent time in Princeton, from Aaron Burr, Jr., and James Madison, to Michelle Obama and Brooke Shields, from Grover Cleveland, and Woodrow Wilson, to Paul Robeson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Toni Morrison, and more!
All tours start at the heart of downtown Princeton, NJ, so grab a bite to eat before you join us, and ask your guide for recommendations on where to go after!
