Celebrate Halloween with FOPOS! Join us for a nature walk on Saturday, October 31, to enjoy the fall foliage, discover nature's spooky side, and gather seeds from native plants.
Along the way, learn about the fascinating plants and wildlife at the Preserve, from nature’s creepy crawlies to the fungi and fallen leaves that help keep our forests healthy.
We’ll also embrace the spirit of stewardship by collecting seeds from native plants such as hibiscus, milkweed, buttonbush, oaks, mountain mint, swamp rose mallow, and ironweed. These seeds will help us grow native plants for FOPOS habitat restoration projects, and you’ll have some to take home and grow, too!
Come enjoy the autumn scenery, uncover nature’s little mysteries, and help us support healthy habitats. Feel free to dress in your favorite Halloween or nature-inspired attire!
Meeting Location: Mountain Lakes House Parking lot, 57 Mountain Ave, Princeton NJ, 08540. Be sure to drive down the long paved driveway entrance to the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve, marked by a series of black mail boxes, the gravel parking lot is on your left about a 1/2 mile down the driveway.
