About this Event
You’re invited to the 2026 Six to Save Announcement
The Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation invites you to join us as we announce the 2026 Six to Save. This is our yearly list of the historic buildings and sites in Sarasota County most at risk of being lost.
We’ll gather at a fitting place: the historic 1920s–30s bungalows on Fruitville Road, home of Discover Sarasota Tours, as part of their Annual Trolley Bash. Come at 3:00, have a drink and a bite, and mingle with fellow preservationists before the program begins.
Panel discussion
After the announcement, John McCarthy and Erin DiFazio, managing director of SAHP, will lead a panel discussion on the history and architecture of the bungalow.
When: Thursday, November 19, 2026, 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Discover Sarasota Tours, 1826 4th Street, Sarasota
Parking: Free on site
A heads-up on arrival
Because our gathering is part of the Trolley Bash, you’ll see a trolley tour boarding and leaving from the same parking lot around 3:00. You’re in the right place! The Six to Save event is right there. Just look for the SAHP check-in table.
About Six to Save
Each year, Six to Save highlights historic places, nominated by the community, that face development pressure, neglect or demolition. These sites become the focus of our advocacy for the year ahead. Learn more at preservesrq.org/projects/aboutsixtosave.
