An Evening to Celebrate, Connect & ShineJoin us on Sunday, November 8 at ArtSpring for an unforgettable evening celebrating the outstanding businesses, entrepreneurs and community champions who make Salt Spring Island such a remarkable place to live, work and visit.
The Salty Awards recognize excellence across nine categories, celebrating the creativity, resilience, generosity and entrepreneurial spirit of our island’s business community. Come enjoy an evening of recognition, connection, and a few surprises as we celebrate the people behind our local businesses.
Meet Your MCs
Teile McDonald, owner of Twang + Pearl, a beloved Salt Spring Island boutique, and Secretary of the Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce Board, brings a deep appreciation for the people and stories behind local businesses. Having grown from employee to owner over the past decade, Teile is delighted to help celebrate the people and businesses that make Salt Spring special.
Alan Ett is a Salt Spring Island resident, film and television producer, and community leader. After a distinguished career in music, education and media, he served as CEO of AECG, a group of companies producing music and content for television, film and advertising worldwide. Alan and his wife Sheila settled permanently on Salt Spring in 2023. He currently serves on the boards of the Lady Minto Hospital Foundation and the Salt Spring Island Foundation, supporting the island’s community and well-being.
The Evening’s Schedule
5:30 PM: Bar opens. Arrive early for a drink and meet our youth entrepreneurs, who’ll be serving homemade hot and cold chai, cookies and power balls. Come show your support for these budding local business owners!
6:00 PM: Theatre opens.
6:30 PM: Awards ceremony begins.
Afterparty: Celebrate with locally inspired tapas-style bites from Salt Spring Catering and a cash bar.
The menu features BC oysters, Salt Spring chèvre, smoked albacore tuna, wild mushroom arancini and Salt Spring honey tart. Please note that catering is served tapas-style, with small bites rather than a full sit-down meal.
Dress to impress! Formal wear and your very best are encouraged. Pull out that fabulous outfit in your closet and give it the night out it deserves!
Tickets
$52, including GST.
Your ticket includes entry to the afterparty. Join fellow business owners and community members to celebrate local achievements, catch up with colleagues, make new connections, and enjoy a festive night out together.
We look forward to celebrating with you at ArtSpring on November 8!
