🤠 THE TEXAS TWO STEP |
$1,000 WINNER-TAKE-ALL DUET SLAM
Everything's bigger in Texas, including the collaborations. And well, some poems just aren't meant to be performed alone.
Austin Poetry Slam is kicking off a brand-new tradition with The Texas Two Step, an evening dedicated to duet poetry, creative chemistry, and two voices doing a whole lot more than taking turns at the mic.
We're bringing 10 teams to the stage, each with their own way of putting two voices together. Some might finish each other's sentences. Some might talk over each other. Some might have you wondering how two people managed to get inside the same poem.
Hosted by Mr. Dave and Akeem Olaj, the night will take us from 10 competing teams down to 5, then 2, with the final pair dancing it out for a $1,000 winner-take-all prize.
That's right. One team. One last round. One thousand dollars.
So grab your boots, round up your people, and come see what happens when Austin's poets get together for a little friendly competition. We're hoping this is the first of many Texas Two Steps, and we'd love to have you there for the inaugural run.
Ten teams. Two voices at a time. A thousand dollars on the line.
Y'all know the drill. Let's dance. 🤠
