About this Event

These are ongoing workshops, running every 2 weeks on a rolling cycle — join one or come to all!

24 August 2026 — Needle Felting

Discover the magic of turning loose wool into solid form! We’ll use sharp felting needles to sculpt soft shapes, gentle figures and rich textures. You’ll learn how to build up layers, blend colours and create both flat 2D designs and small 3D pieces. It’s wonderfully tactile, calming and incredibly satisfying — perfect for beginners and anyone who loves working with natural fibres.

7 September 2026 — Appliqué

Layer, stitch and tell stories in fabric! Appliqué is the art of cutting shapes from one fabric and attaching them to another to create bold, vivid compositions. We’ll explore different ways to fix your pieces — from simple hand stitching to bonding techniques — and play with pattern, colour contrast and texture to make artwork that feels uniquely yours. Bring old scraps, favourite fabrics or start fresh — anything goes.

21 September 2026 — Cyanotype Printing

Sunlight becomes your paint in this beautiful photographic process! The cyanotype method creates stunning deep-blue prints using UV light — no darkroom or chemicals needed beyond the kit. Place leaves, lace, natural objects or even your own drawings on treated fabric/paper, expose it to the sun, and watch your design magically appear. It’s magical, eco-friendly and full of lovely surprises — every print turns out one-of-a-kind.

5 October 2026 — Imaginary Family Album

Reimagine memory through art! Working with found images, old photographs or even pictures of people you’ve never met, we’ll draw, stitch, collage and embellish them into entirely new creations. You can add details, change backgrounds, add colour or create whole new stories — there’s no right or wrong. It’s a tender, playful way to explore identity, connection and the stories we carry with us.

19 October 2026 — Painting with Yarn

Swap your brush for strands of yarn and let texture lead the way! Think of yarn as your paint — use thick chunky strands for bold lines, fine threads for delicate details, and arrange lengths of colour to build up compositions just like a painting. We’ll experiment with laying, stitching and gluing yarn onto a base to create vibrant, tactile art that feels alive with movement. It’s a wonderfully free way to work — no drawing skills required.

2 November 2026 — Painting with Texture

Build art you can feel as much as see! In this session we’ll focus entirely on surface and depth — mixing fabric scraps, threads, wool, fibres and even found materials to create rich, layered, dimensional work. We’ll explore how different materials interact, how to build up raised areas and how texture alone can convey mood and feeling. It’s all about getting hands-on, embracing imperfection and making art that invites you to reach out and touch it.

Each workshop runs 2.5 hours, including demo, guided practice, creative making time and a lovely share & chat at the end. ✨

Last 30 min is an opening session for participants to carry on working a bit longer
