Ontario has officially passed a historic law banning most invasive medical research on dogs and cats! Because labs can no longer conduct invasive medical research on dogs and cats once the law takes effect on January 1, 2027, they must give surviving animals a second chance at life. Animal Justice is aware of six testing labs in Ontario that have recently experimented on dogs or cats.
We reached out to these labs, urging them to have compassion and commit to rehoming any dogs and cats before the January 1 deadline, and offered to help. None of them responded to our request for a meeting or to commit to a rehoming plan.
Join us at Transpharmation in Fergus to urge decision makers to commit to a rehoming plan. With multiple rescue groups already prepared to house dogs and cats from these labs, there is no excuse for them not to do the right thing.
This landmark provincial ban was won after Animal Justice exposed secret dog cardiac experiments at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario.
Join us at Transpharmation on October 25 to make sure every lab dog gets placed into a loving home!
