About this Event
Te Hāwere-a-Maki/Goat Island Marine Reserve by night – see the reef from a different perspective! Registrations essential.
Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits. Recommended for ages 12 years and up. Only suitable for people with prior snorkelling experience and moderate to strong swimming ability. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.
In the situation that we have to postpone this event, our backup date is the following day Friday 30.10.2026.

Twilight snorkel: 6:30-8:00pm
Night snorkel: 8:00-9:30pm

Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust runs a series of free and subsidised events over the summer months that rely on public support to make them happen. We appreciate donations to participate, either cash or eftpos on the day, online or by giving a koha of your time volunteering at a future event. Most people donate $5-10pp.
What to bring
- Togs and towel
- Warm clothes
- Under water torch if you own one (your guide will have a torch so it is not neccessary to have your own)
- Water (no drinking water on site)
What we provide
- Wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel (hoods are also available for those that get cold)
- Body boards for extra floatation
- Snorkel guide with high powered underwater torch
- Advanced health and safety procedures
Cancellation policy: As this event requires registration - if you give less than 24 hours notice or do not show up an invoice of $20pp may be issued.
