Everything is better with pockets! Join our hands-on sewing workshop led by Danesha Anglin, and learn how to add functional pockets to an existing skirt or dress.
Step into the Mood Fabrics Atlanta Showroom for an engaging, hands-on sewing session! In this interactive class, you will learn how to transform a pocket-free garment into a more functional and personalized piece. Whether you have a favorite skirt or dress that could use a convenient place to hold your essentials, this class will teach you practical techniques for adding pockets while maintaining a clean, polished finish.
What You’ll Do
- Learn how to choose the best pocket style and placement for your existing garment.
- Learn how to measure, mark, and prepare your skirt or dress for pocket installation.
- Learn techniques for creating clean seams and a polished, durable finish.
- Gain confidence using your sewing machine to customize and alter your clothing.
- Hands on practice with constructing and attaching pockets to an existing garment you brought with you, as much as time allows.
What to Bring
Please bring one skirt or dress that you would like to add pockets to. For the best experience, we recommend bringing a garment with enough ease and room to comfortably incorporate pockets. All necessary sewing tools, machines, and standard matching threads are fully provided for the workshop but feel free to bring your own thread for the perfect match.
If you would like to personalize your pockets with a contrasting fabric or something of your choosing then feel free to bring ½ a yard of that fabric with you to class otherwise a selection of neutral colored cotton fabric will be provided. Your ticket reservation converts to a $5 credit to use toward your purchase.
Class Registration & Cancellation Policy
Refunds for the ticket price are available for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the event start time. Please note that Eventbrite’s service fees are non-refundable, so you will receive a partial refund equal to the ticket amount minus those fees.
