Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is practical, hands-on training designed to develop the skills and mindset needed to respond to serious and potentially life-threatening injuries in challenging environments.
C-TECC Recognized Educational Partner
Security Responder is a Recognized Educational Partner of the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC).
Our TECC training follows C-TECC educational principles and is built around developing practical casualty-care skills that can be applied when circumstances are difficult, resources are limited and advanced medical care may not yet be immediately available.
This is not a traditional classroom-based First Aid course.
Our blended format moves much of the theory out of the practical training day, allowing participants to spend their in-person time where it matters most — hands-on practice, repetition, casualty movement and realistic scenarios.
🧠 Two-Part Course
Thursday Evening — Theory
The theory component establishes the foundation for the practical training and includes:
- Introduction to TECC principles
- The MARCH assessment model
- Scene safety and responder mindset
- Priorities of casualty care
- Communication and documentation
- Legal considerations and duty of care
- Preparing for the practical training day
Saturday, November 28 — Practical Training
09:30–17:30
Saturday is about doing the skills.
Participants will work through:
- Tourniquet application and massive hemorrhage control
- Wound packing and pressure techniques
- Airway assessment and management
- MARCH-based casualty assessment
- Casualty movement and extraction
- Working effectively with another responder
- Rapid reassessment and communication
- Practical drills with increasing levels of pressure
- Scenario-based casualty response
Skills are demonstrated, practised and repeated before participants are challenged to apply them during realistic scenarios.

This course is designed for people who may find themselves first on scene before EMS can reach the casualty, including:
- Law enforcement officers
- Security professionals
- First Aid responders
- Event and venue personnel
- Prepared civilians
No previous medical training is required.
⚠️ Important Information
Participants must complete the Thursday theory component before attending Saturday's practical training.
This is an active, hands-on course. Training includes working from the ground, casualty drags, movement and extraction techniques, and working closely with training partners.
Techniques are introduced progressively with an emphasis on safety, repetition and practical competency.
