About this Event
In partnership with TechnoSonics Festival, the Omnisonan Project, a new ensemble in the Contemplative Commons, launches its debut immersive light and sound exhibit, Synaisthesis in The CSC Conservatory. Omnisonan is a neuroart collaboration between Karianne Michelle (sound bowls), Matthew Burtner (computer music), R. Lee Kennedy (digital lighting), and David Acunzo (neuroscience). This intermedia contemplative performance installation creates a 60-minute immersive convergence. Experience the standing-wave acoustics and binaural-beating patterns of crystal-alchemy sound bowls, computer-based physical sound models, and synchronized, computer-controlled lighting. Join the CSC and TechnoSonics for the debut of this live neuroart creation in The Conservatory.

Parking & Transportation
We look forward to welcoming you to the Contemplative Commons at UVA! Here are a few tips to make your arrival easy and stress-free.
🚗 Parking: Central Grounds Garage Recommended
For this one-hour event, Central Grounds Garage is your most convenient and cost-effective option. Located directly across Emmet Street from the Contemplative Commons, parking costs just $3 for one hour through the ParkMobile app using Zone 5515.
Other option: Emmet/Ivy Garage
UVA employees can purchase a $9.25 daily parking pass through the UVA parking portal. If you already hold an Emmet/Ivy Garage permit, you can park as usual. For a one-hour event, however, Central Grounds Garage is likely the better value.
📱 Plan Ahead
To save time when you arrive, download the ParkMobile app and set up your account before the event. When you park at Central Grounds Garage, use Zone 5515 to pay.
🚌 Prefer Public Transportation?
UVA Transit buses are fare-free, with stops on Emmet Street near the Contemplative Commons. Check TransLoc for live route information, as some routes may be detoured due to construction.
♿ Accessible Parking
Accessible (ADA) parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please review UVA’s visitor parking and accessibility information before your visit to plan accordingly.
