About this Event

Back by popular demand and in partnership with Hanaski Resturant

Slow down, pick up a brush, and let colour do the rest.

Sushi, Sip and Paint: Find Calm in Colours is a beginner-friendly watercolour series running every third Saturday of the month from September to December, using Jean Haines' World of Watercolour as our reference and inspiration. Each month has a different subject and focus, so you'll build your watercolour skills step by step while exploring a range of techniques — no art experience needed, just a willingness to relax and let the paint flow.

Come to one session or the full series; either way, you'll leave with a finished painting and a little more calm (and maybe a new hobby).

What's included:

  • All art materials (paper, paints, brushes, palettes)
  • A welcome glass of wine
  • A sushi break midway through
  • Step-by-step, beginner-paced guidance
  • A takeaway painting each month

Monthly Themes
  • September (Sat 26th Sept) — Apples Simple, bold still life — direct colour application and building confidence with your first subject.
  • October (Sat 24th Oct) — Pumpkin Warm autumnal tones, rounded form and shading with watercolour.
  • November (Sat 21 Nov) — Cosy Wine Bottles & Glasses Painting glass and reflective surfaces, layering colour for depth and warmth.
  • December (Sat 12 Dec) — Festive Flowers Bringing it all together in one finished, festive floral piece.

About the Faciliator

Jing is a London-based fine art artist working out of Wimbledon Art Studios. Painting since the age of three, she began her training in watercolours before moving on to acrylics, which are now her primary medium — though watercolour remains close to her heart, and it's the medium she'll be guiding you through in this workshop.

Jing is also colour therapy certified, bringing an understanding of how colour can affect our mood into every session. She has since hosted workshops at Cass Art, John Lewis and Clockwise Office, bringing her relaxed, encouraging teaching style to painters of all levels.
