About this Event
London Nightline has been supporting student mental health for 55 years, and we are pleased to offer a new training opportunity to support the Higher Education community.
The Support Well, Stay Well session aims to:
- give every member of student-facing staff the confidence to better support the students they work with
- teach you the fundamentals of active listening and communication skills to make a student feel heard and understood
- give you the confidence to listen without trying to 'solve' a student's problems or worry about saying 'the right thing'
- help understand and manage the impact that student mental health support can take on the staff member too
- embed techniques to prioritise your own wellbeing, reduce overwhelm and burnout
This training is available to staff from universities, student unions and halls of residences across London, in any student-facing role. Examples include: reception teams, student experience coordinators, lecturers, teaching assistants etc. If you are unsure about the suitability of this session or want further information please email [email protected].
This training is part of the Stay Project, a London-wide initiative to support the supporters and reduce suicides. For more information please click here.
