About this Event
Domestic garden represents a scalable, low-cost, and highly distributed climate adaptation strategy for London. However, increasing garden paving for parking, low maintenance, or aesthetic preferences has contributed to higher surface runoff, reduced biodiversity, and increased urban heat exposure. While scientific evidence is strong, policy coherence and implementation mechanisms remain underdeveloped.
This Policy Lab provides a critical step toward translating evidence into coordinated, actionable policy across London’s landscape.
Join us to developed through a co-design Policy Lab process, sets out:
- Key policy and regulatory gaps
- Evidence on climate, flood, and biodiversity benefits
- Barriers to implementation
- Actionable policy and planning recommendations
- A roadmap for scaling depaving interventions across London
