About this Event
Sunday Assembly Brighton are a secular community who gather to celebrate life!
www.sundayassemblybrighton.com
Helping us to wonder more this month is the inimitable Pete Fij. In a past life, Pete was a second hand book dealer, and his talk explores some of the curious forgotten objects discovered in the pages of the paperbacks, which bring a tiny snapshot into other people's lives. We will also be hearing from Richard & Jamie who help often in our community, by organising the Care Leavers’ Christmas Dinner.
We’ll be raising money* for the RNLI who work tirelessly to keep people safe on our coastline, and of course, there’ll be our regular round of singing, food bank**, tea (bring your keep-cup!), cake***, and friendly chit-chat with old friends and new****, to keep our spirits up and community warm :)
Aaaannnd… honest moment - we love putting on Sunday Assembly, but we really could use a few extra heads, hearts, and hands (preferably still attached to willing volunteers) to help us keep this community going #sundayassembly #whatsonbrighton #wondermore #livebetter #helpoften
* money raised is usually split 50:50 between the charity and Sunday Assembly (for running costs, hall hire, tea, etc)
** tins of food, dry packet food, toiletries, and so on to be distributed to Brighton food banks by us at Sunday Assembly :)
*** and if you're a keen baker - bring cake/brownies/your great bake-off practice pieces!
**** hey, tell your friends and bring them along too: more people = more community = more singing and good times :)
***** The Musée du Service des Objets Trouvés (Museum of Found Objects) in Paris is a small collection of lost items maintained by the Paris Police, has previously included things such as a lobster, human skulls, and a wedding dress
