Join us for our weekly Student Spotlight Sunday hosted by Calli Bakers Firehouse. On Sunday October 18 we are excited to host one of CCU’s best musicans, mentor, and friend; Keli Price! Keli A. Price is a featured solo artist, accomplished performer, and educator who serves as Trumpet Teaching Associate in the Department of Music at Coastal Carolina University. She is Principal Trumpet of the Florence Symphony Orchestra and maintains a vibrant national performance presence spanning solo, orchestral, jazz, hip-hop, and commercial settings, including appearances with the Emerald Empire Band.
Price holds bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in Orchestral Trumpet Performance from the Ithaca College Conservatory of Music. Her professional experiences living and performing in cities such as Philadelphia, PA and Oakland, CA have broadened her artistic perspective, deepening her connection to diverse musical traditions.
Equally at home in classical and contemporary styles, Price is also a jazz, hip-hop, and funk musician whose approach embraces improvisation as a vital form of musical expression. This stylistic versatility informs her teaching, allowing her to prepare students for the multifaceted demands of today’s musical landscape.
Committed to developing complete musicians, Price works with students at every stage of their growth—from beginners to emerging professionals—cultivating technical excellence, expressive artistry, creative independence, and a lifelong engagement with music.
