About this Event
The Fit Partnership and the MELP Foundation are proud to host a special World Mental Health Day. Bringing together women from the fields of mental health, sport and wellness for an educational panel focused on women's mental health, physical activity, and the power of sport in shaping confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
Despite growing awareness of mental health challenges facing women and girls, significant barriers remain. Girls are more likely than boys to drop out of sport during adolescence, often due to confidence issues, body image concerns, social pressures, lack of opportunities, and inadequate investment in female sporting programmes. At the same time, rates of anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, and poor mental wellbeing amongst young women continue to rise.
Together, we will explore how sport, building mental health resilience, and community connection can play a transformative role in improving mental health outcomes for women and girls, while discussing what more can be done to create equal opportunities and long-term investment in female participation.
