For more than 40 years, Third Place Transition House has provided emergency shelter and support to survivors of intimate partner violence. Now, we're working toward our next chapter: Second Stage Housing—safe, affordable housing with wraparound supports where survivors and their children can rebuild their lives for up to two years after leaving shelter.With intimate partner violence at epidemic levels and Nova Scotia facing an ongoing housing crisis, this project has never been more important. That's why we're gathering with our community in downtown Truro to demonstrate our support and raise funds for Second Stage Housing. Every team, walker, and supporter helps bring this vision one step closer to reality for Colchester and East Hants.
When: November 7, 2026 at 5:30pm
Where: Meet at Civic Square, then walk 2.5km together around downtown Truro!
How to participate: Join a team or join on your own. Spread the word and ask your friends and families to support your efforts.
