About this Event
Shut out the noise of the outside world and tune into your soul!
Under the instruction of experienced educator and ceramicist Jam Westwood, learn how to make a piece of personalised clay tile art with explorative decoration - preserving a little piece of your ‘inside world’, forever!
With a focus on words, stories numbers and symbols which directly link to you, you will create a tile which is a truly personal and unique work of art. Over the half day session you will absorb the basics on how to handle and roll clay tiles before learning how to sgraffito and monoprint onto clay surfaces with slips and underglazes. You will self analyse in order to pinpoint intriguing words and phrases which personalise the decorative effects before collaging and fixing your 3D features to a 12x12 ceramic tile design.
Your tiles will be finished with a transparent glaze and kiln fired afterwards. You will be notified approximately 3 weeks later to collect.
