About this Event
Learn How to Save a Life!
Severe bleeding can become life-threatening in just minutes. Whether caused by a vehicle accident, workplace injury, natural disaster, or everyday emergency, knowing how to control bleeding can mean the difference between life and death.
The STOP THE BLEED course, developed by the American College of Surgeons, teaches everyday people how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action before emergency responders arrive.
During this interactive, hands-on course, participants will learn three essential lifesaving skills:
- Direct Pressure: Learn how to apply pressure to control serious bleeding.
- Wound Packing: Practice packing a wound to control bleeding from serious injuries.
- Tourniquet Application: Learn when and how to properly apply a tourniquet to control life-threatening bleeding from an arm or leg.
This course includes practical skills training taught by experienced EMTs and Paramedics.
No medical experience is required! This training is appropriate for community members, parents, teachers, students, and anyone interested in being prepared to help during an emergency.
