Learn the Skills to Save a Life!
Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time, and to anyone. When someone's heart stops beating, immediate action can make the difference between life and death. Knowing how to perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can help you respond confidently until emergency medical services arrive.
This free, hands-on Community CPR & AED course is based on the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI/HSI) CPR and AED training program. It is designed to give everyday people the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.
What You'll Learn
During this interactive course, participants will learn and practice:
- Recognizing Cardiac Arrest: Identify the signs of sudden cardiac arrest and understand when CPR is needed.
- Adult CPR: Perform high-quality chest compressions and rescue breaths.
- Child & Infant CPR: Learn the important differences in providing CPR to children and infants.
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED): Learn when and how to safely use an AED during cardiac arrest.
- Choking Emergencies: Recognize and respond to airway obstructions in adults, children, and infants.
- Emergency Response: Learn how to activate 911, assess an unresponsive person, and provide care until professional help arrives.
