This November, Vet Giving invites our Amarillo community to STEP UP.
Step Up is more than a workout. It's an opportunity to come together, challenge ourselves, support our veterans, and bring awareness to the mental health struggles affecting veterans and people throughout our community.
The event is inspired by the CHAD 1000X workout, created in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson, who died by suicide after experiencing the effects of numerous deployments, TBIs, blast-wave injuries, and PTSD.
THE CHALLENGE:
1,000 Box Step-Ups.
But here's the most important part:
You DO NOT have to complete 1,000.
Set your own goal. Do 100. Do 250. Do 500. Go for all 1,000. Come as an individual or put together a team and take on the challenge together.
We'll have boxes of different heights so participants can choose a level that works for them.
This isn't about being the strongest or the fastest.
It's about showing up.
Every step represents a conversation we need to keep having about mental health, PTSD, suicide prevention, and supporting the veterans and people in our community who may be fighting battles we can't see.
COME STEP UP WITH US.
Whether you're an experienced athlete or you've never participated in an event like this before, you're welcome.
