About this Event
Come get your hands dirty, learn some permaculture skills, eat some tasty foodz and revel in the soil!
"SPF Work / Play Weekends" are educational volunteer days that happen (aspirationally) a few Saturdays a month. We host between 12-20 volunteer punks per events!
This all happens here at Solar Punk Farms. Volunteers are responsible for finding their own way to the farm, but if you need help, we can try to see if car sharing with other volunteers is possible!
TODAY: We will be getting ready to absorb all the rains from the upcoming Super El Niño by doing some soil prep, sheet mulching, composting and land clearing. It will be a big day to learn about the "end of summer" and all the things we can do to ready outselves for the change of the seasons (including keeping our instect friend alive!)
What to bring:
Layers, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
Garden gloves if you have them (we will provide if not)
An appetite for lunch. We make our famous beet sandwiches for lunch (vegetarian), vegan and/or gluten-free options can be made available, please let us know beforehand.
Please let us know if you can't make it so we can open up the spot for someone else!
