About this Event
Come get your hands dirty, learn some permaculture skills, eat some tasty foodz and revel in the soil!
"SPF Work / Play Weekends" are educational volunteer days that happen (aspirationally) a few Saturdays a month. We host between 12-20 volunteer punks per events!
This all happens here at Solar Punk Farms. Volunteers are responsible for finding their own way to the farm, but if you need help, we can try to see if car sharing with other volunteers is possible!
TODAY: Thanks to our friends at The Xerces Society (who have donated a HUGE amount of lovely native plants) we will be planting a natives across the hillside to combat some invatives, improve soil stability and create a drought resilient landscape for the back of the farm! We shall....as they say...help this hurting little hill going through a full sailor moon transformation whilst we create food for bees and memories for humans!
What to bring:
Layers, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
Garden gloves if you have them (we will provide if not)
An appetite for lunch. We make our famous beet sandwiches for lunch (vegetarian), vegan and/or gluten-free options can be made available, please let us know beforehand.
