A new chapter for live jazz in Glasgow continues following a successful opening night of our monthly jazz club, created by musician, composer and Del Amitri keyboard player Andy Alston.
Music kicks off at 7.30pm, with the bar open and food available, giving audiences the opportunity to make a complete evening of it in one of Glasgow’s most atmospheric and distinctive cultural spaces. Glasgow Speakeasy is designed to provide a regular home for high-quality live jazz in the city, bringing together musicians from different generations and musical backgrounds in an intimate setting where the music comes first. Each month will feature a new theme, line-up or musical collaboration, with established and specialist artists performing alongside emerging musicians. Selected RCS jazz students will also appear each month, gaining valuable experience performing alongside professional musicians in front of a live audience. The idea here is to create a room where musicians can really play, audiences can really listen, and unexpected collaborations can happen.
