Interested in rope but little or no experience? Excited to attend Community Skillshare Rope Jams with SPARK but want some more "classroom" type learning first? You’ll learn a few useful, foundational ties, and see a simple chest harness demonstrated (with a chance to try it if time and comfort allow). And of course, we’ll talk about some important safety considerations.
When the teaching wraps up, stay for social time with SPARK and OPENKink!
What to bring:
A 50-foot bundle of cotton clothesline (about $6 at Home Depot). If you have other rope in your play kit (hemp, jute, soft poly, etc.) that's 1/4" or thicker it is probably fine; you'll need 30 to 40+ feet for the harness depending on the rope bottom's size.
Your own safety shears; trauma shears from a pharmacy work well!
What to wear:
Comfortable, casual clothes that allow access to wrists/forearms.
Working over a t-shirt or tank top or sports bra is fine; no toplessness please.
What to know:
Be 19 or older please; this is the age of majority in NE.
Singles are welcome. If we have a sense of the number of people attending, we’ll pair you up or rotate partners.
There is no cost to attend any SPARK event, though the venue appreciates food and drink orders, and OPEN Kink is grateful for optional donations.
