SP360 Lambeth: Carnival Vibes!

For our May SP360 Lambeth workshop, we’ve invited Zaiah Arts Dance Instructor, Shafaye, to lead you through a fun and energetic Soca dance workshop called 'Carnival Vibes'!

Shafaye was born and raised in South East London, and has been dancing and performing since she was 5 years old. Her training started at New Peckham Varieties (now known as Theatre Peckham). She then went to the Brit School and from there, various dance groups and classes. During this time, she performed in many musicals and dance shows.

What to expect in this workshop:

• A class filled with Caribbean culture, energy and good vibes!
• The objective of the class is to leave feeling confident and like you've worked out!
• First and foremost, it's to have fun!
• Dancing, waistline drills, and a bit of choreography.

What you need to bring:

• Participants will need to bring water
• Knee pads are recommended but are not a requirement.
• Active wear.
• Bring a flag if you have one!
• Mostly importantly, bring the energy and vibes.

By the end of this workshop:

• Hopefully you will have learnt to be more confident in your whine and just dancing in general.
• We want to get you prepared for carnival!
