As autumn arrives, composer Gábor Jancsó returns to Brody House with Sounds from My Diary — Volume II, bringing a new collection of stories, memories and original compositions from the next pages of his musical diary.

An intimate evening of original contemporary classical music for piano and string quartet, exploring personal stories of love, grief, memory, and self-discovery through composition.
Breakups, nighttime walks, grief, joy, unfulfilled love, and the rugged — sometimes painful, yet beautiful — journey of self-discovery. These are stories that are often easier to express through notes than through words. The concert will feature works and stories from the past six years, performed for piano and string quartet. The beauty of instrumental music is that everyone can hear something different in it, and perhaps you may recognise parts of your own story as well.
This time, with new stories, new pieces, and new fragments of a life translated into music.

Jancsó Gábor vagyok, zenész, zeneszerző.
Gyerekkoromtól írok naplót.
6 éves koromtól 13 éves koromig szavakkal írtam le majdnem mindent, majdnem minden nap.
13 éves koromban megtalált a zene.
Onnantól kezdve a zene írja a történetemet, a zenével írom a történetem.
Ezen az estén ebbe a naplóba tekinthettek bele. Szakítások, éjjeli séták, gyász, örömök, be nem teljesült szerelem, az önismeret rögös és olykor fájdalmas, de mégis csodálatos útján tett kalandozások. Elmesélek pár történetet a sok közül, melyeket számomra könnyebb hangjegyekkel, mint szavakkal.
Az estének “Hangok a naplómból” címet adom. Egyik kedvenc zeneszerzőm, Claude Debussy mondta: „A zene ott kezdődik, ahol a szó hatalma véget ér.”
Zeneakadémiai éveim alatt ez a mondat kísért végig. És azóta is. Ezen a koncerten főleg az elmúlt 6 év darabjai, történetei hangoznak majd el vonósnégyes és zongora felállásban. Az instrumentális darabok szépsége, hogy mindenki úgy fordítja magáénak, ahogyan szeretné, így hátha ti is a saját történeteikre ismertek.
De beszéljenek inkább a hangok.
