Soul Sessions is our biweekly dance party in PLAY’s Levity Lounge.21 and over & never a cover charge.
This is the resurrection of the Soul Session dance events that Gaia Tribe threw in downtown Eugene years ago.
We may not go late, but we bring the vibe.
Introduced to rave culture through Gaia Tribe and the prolific forest renegade scene in the late 2000s, Ryan Nordic was submersed in underground dance music mixed by some of the most forward-thinking DJs in the Pacific Northwest. Soon after, he developed a passion for sharing music with his friends through deejaying. His love for deep, soulful dance music quickly grew in the house scene of Eugene while learning technical mixing skills from the area’s veteran DJs.
Moving to South Korea in 2019, Ryan Nordic gained community in the Busan underground scene, earned a residency, and organized rooftop, yacht, and club events with his partners and friends at Melt, Mixwave, and Output.
Back in Portland, Ryan Nordic founded Vibe Check PDX in 2023 with his best friends Goodwill and Andrew HV. Vibe Check promotes safe and community-centered dance environments with local DJs playing their favorite flavors of UK bass, garage, techno, and otherworldly rave music. He continues to embrace deep and intricate blends of house, techno, DnB, and UK bass music through his mixes and performances in both the club and outdoor rave environments.

Starting in 2012 after several impressive bookings and gigs, Cameron Weslee quickly became one of Eugene's favorite and most desired underground house DJs. While his taste and style are rooted in tech house and breaks, Cameron plays with a feel that has himself recently sharing stages with a wide range of headlining acts ranging from Mark Farina, to Giraffage, to Dirtwire, to Govinda, to Bass Physics and to multiple Dirty Bird dj's. Also known as one half of the DJ duo called GhettoKraft, Cameron is always creating a deep edgy vibe for the dance floor. To sum up, Cameron is always reaching the crowd.
