Want to be around people without having to “be social”?
Sometimes you don’t need networking or dating.
You just want to be somewhere with people where it feels easy to talk, laugh, join in and be yourself.
Soul Date is a relaxed Saturday social for exactly that.
We make the first part easy: no standing around wondering who to talk to, no forced small talk, no pressure to be interesting.
We’ll gently mix people into pairs and small groups using simple games, unusual questions and playful activities that make conversation happen naturally.
Some conversations may be funny, some surprisingly personal, and some may go nowhere at all. That’s fine. You don’t have to leave with a new best friend or impress anyone.
You can simply spend 90 minutes around people and have a few real conversations.
What will be:
🫶We’ll meet at an ambient place, have a few minutes to arrive, get a coffee, tea or something to eat if you wish, and then start together.
🫶There’ll be a mix of short conversations, small-group games, unusual prompts and simple shared activities. We’ll change groups a few times, so you get to meet different people without the awkward mingling.
🫶We’ll also try 2-3 simple meditation and attention practices, including deconcentration as a way of softening and widening your attention.
There’s a reason we’re bringing this into meeting people. When we meet someone new, a lot of our attention can go into “What should I say? How am I coming across?” With wider attention, we can notice ourselves and the person or group in front of us at the same time.
We’ll try the practice and then bring it directly into conversation, exploring whether a different way of paying attention can make being with another person feel more natural and fulfilling. No meditation experience is needed.
At the end, we’ll leave some free time to stay, have another drink and talk with whoever you naturally clicked with.
This is not speed dating or usual networking.

🙌 The gathering has no fixed fee. If you can, we suggest a £3-5 contribution to support C Space CIC and future events. Less is absolutely fine.
