Starting at 11 am. Drop off on East Grand Ave near Jane Addams Memorial Park. Or CTA Bus stop Grand & Streeter: 29 State Street, 65 Grand Ave, 66 Chicago Ave, and 124 Navy Pier.

If the Great Lakes were given a voice, they would cry out for help—urging us to end the abuse and choose protection. In conjunction with the exhibition Under Pressure, Fernández premieres SOS at Ohio Street Beach during EXPO Chicago: a large-scale performance where 800 handheld mirrors flash sunlight in Morse code, transforming the international distress signal into “Save Our Seas.”

Join us and be part of this experience! Held overhead by participants, the mirrors create a shimmering call for action along the shoreline—more than a social sculpture, a living monument of solidarity.

Como parte de la exposición Under Pressure, Fernández presenta SOS en Ohio Street Beach durante EXPO Chicago: una acción a gran escala en la que 800 espejos de mano reflejan la luz del sol en código Morse, resignificando la señal internacional de auxilio como “Save Our Seas (Salvemos Nuestros Mares)”.
