THE SIMPLE TRUTH CHICAGO
About this Event

Those who say: I don’t believe in all this stuff; this is all made up or man wrote the Bible, and it’s been translated so many times that the Words of the Bible are untrue. Or I just don’t believe in an afterlife. After I’m gone, that’s it. I want to make something perfectly clear to those with this thinking. It won’t matter what you think about God’s Word or what you would like to believe. Every person who was ever born must one day stand before Jesus Christ and be judged. Either at the bema seat where God’s kids go, (that’s the born-again Christians), or the Great White Throne, that’s where everyone else goes. It won’t make any difference whether you believed here on this earth or not. Everyone including Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, New Age, Atheists, Agnostics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Catholics, Protestants, all Christians, absolutely everyone will stand before Jesus Christ one day at Judgment. You won’t have a choice. If you were born, you are immortal! You will never die! Yes, your earthly body (shell), will die, but your dead body will be resurrected no matter how you died or where your remains are. Even if you are cremated and your remains are scattered in a lake, your body, soul and spirit will come together, and you WILL stand before Jesus Christ and be judged. There are many, many scriptures that tell us this. When you’re standing in judgment before Christ, you will not be talking. You’ll be listening. In this Judgment, Christ is the Judge. All of your good deeds will be read from a book. The ones you thought were good enough to get you into heaven. Then all of your bad deeds will be read from another book. Then the Lamb’s Book of Life will be opened and if your name isn’t written there, it will no longer matter. Only those who have been saved while on this earth will have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. If you have not been saved through Grace by the Blood of Jesus prior to your death, Jesus will not defend you to His Father. And just because you didn’t believe the Bible or because you didn’t take the time to find out what’s written in the Bible and what the laws are, you will NOT be given a free pass. God’s Word clearly tells us this. Even if you have done a good deed every hour of every day of your life, you have fallen short. It’s the same at the Judgment as it is on this earth, ignorance of the law is no excuse! If you do not give your life to Christ and live by His Laws, you will be punished by the second death, that is, your eternity will be in hell. But don’t think for a minute that will please GOD because you would be wrong. GOD doesn’t want to see anyone perish so He gave us His Word in the form of the Old and New Testaments. He has told us how to live, how to love others, how to treat our spouses, and how to come to salvation thru Jesus. He has even told us how this world will end step by step and that’s all contained in the (Book of Revelation). It is so easy to get your name written in the Lamb's book of life. (Romans 10:9 10) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." If you truly believe, you will repent of being a sinner and be baptized. If your name is not written in the book of life, do not delay, do it today. How wonderful it will be to stand before Jesus and hear Him say: “Well done thy good and faithful servant”. But for those who think you don’t have to come to God and ask him to save you and forgive you for the sin in your life that caused Christ to be crucified, how terrible at the Great White Throne judgment to hear Jesus say to you directly, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”. To die in your sin would mean that you, the person would wind up in everlasting hell FOREVER and EVER and EVER for all of eternity. It's a dreadful thing to die in your sin because you neglected the FREE gift of JESUS due to your unsubstantiated unbelief. Believers in Christ are safe and have the promise of the resurrection. Because Jesus lives, His followers will also live. Believers in Christ are the redeemed. No one can match the creation of all the world and everything in it, and around it. No work was ever greater than what God did for all of us.

WE ALL NEED A SAVIOR BECAUSE

1.“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

2. Sin is the tragic inheritance of all mankind. Each is born into sin with a propensity to sin (Romans 5:12).

3. Every person is guilty of sin. Although we are born into sin, we are also personally guilty of evils we have committed (see above “Romans 3:23”).

4. The Bible pronounces all men guilty of transgressions against God’s eternal law (Galatians 3:22; Romans 3:9).

5. Failure to acknowledge our personal guilt and sin only fools ourselves (1 John 1:8).

6. Our sin makes us enemies of God (Romans 8:7-8).

7. The result of our sin will be death (Romans 6:23).

8. Man cannot be better by himself. He may resolve to do better but keeps slipping back into those patterns and habits of evil (Romans 7:19-24).

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). Just knowing we need a Savior is not enough. A thirsty man knows he needs a drink, but diagnosis is not cure. The Bible not only points to our need of salvation but tells us how we can accept Jesus. It is not enough just to say, “I love You, Jesus.” We must move on the “believing in our hearts.” That is, obeying the commandments of our Christ and desiring Him to take control of our lives.

1. Salvation is a free gift to you. You cannot earn or deserve it (Ephesians 2:8-9).

2. Salvation comes by the atoning death of Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:13; Colossians 1:20).

3. We must repent. That is, we must truly be sorry for our sins and tell God we are (Matthew 3:2).

4. We must come as a humble child to God, not a proud and arrogant “know it all” (1 Corinthians1:21).

5. We must believe in God, His Son Jesus Christ, and in the power of His forgiveness (Acts 16:30-31).

6. There are two very simple steps to take to receive salvation (Romans 10:9).

(A) Step 1. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus.

(B) Step 2. Believe in your heart God hath raised Him from the dead.

HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN

Jesus Christ was with God the Father before the world was created. He became human and lived among humanity as Jesus of Nazareth. He came to show us what God the Father is like. He lived a sinless life, showing us how to live; and He died upon a cross to pay for our sins. God raised Him from the dead. Jesus is the source of eternal life. Jesus wants to be the doorway to new life for you. In the Bible He is called the “Lamb of God” (John 1:29). In the Old Testament, sacrifices were required for the sins of the people. In the New Testament, Jesus became the sacrificial lamb offered for your sins. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes unto the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He is waiting for you now. Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent by turning away from your sins. By faith receive Jesus Christ as God’s Son and accept Jesus’ gift of forgiveness from sin. He took the penalty for your sins by dying on the cross. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. You may pray a simple prayer like this as you humbly call on God to save you:

"Dear Heavenly Father, I know you love me. I realize that it was my sins that caused Jesus to have to come and die on the cross. I ask forgiveness for my sins and ask Jesus to come into my life. I turn away from sin and place my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!"

This is all that is needed. You should understand that Jesus died for the sins in your life, not for everyone’s sin. If no one else in the entire world would ask for forgiveness for their sins, Jesus would have done this for you alone. Realize that He did this for you because He loves you and does not want to see you perish in the second death. If He had come to earth and died for everyone, then everyone would have been saved. This is not the case. Only those who admit to the sins in their life as the cause for the death of Jesus and calls on God to forgive them will be saved by Grace though Faith. By saying the above prayer with a sincere heart and be willing to turn your life over to God, you will see your life change as you begin to turn from your sin nature. If you have done this, you need to walk in the Light as Jesus tells us in His Word, the bible. A new child of God does two things immediately. Pray and read your bible daily. That is the way you will grow in your walk with God. If you truly love Him, you will want to learn all you can about Him. This is the way.

YOUR NEW LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN

We must understand that salvation is much more than just repeating the words of a vow, however sincere those words may be. Just as a single person stands to say his wedding vows and that simple act changes his whole lifestyle and direction, so the simple acceptance of Jesus is totally life altering. We are saved to serve, not just sit. Thus, after we have given our hearts to Jesus, there are certain things He wants us to do. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.

1. We are to grow up in Christ, not remaining static in our spiritual experiences (Ephesians 4:15).

2. We are to grow in grace and knowledge of the things of God (2 Peter 3:18).

3. We grow as we read the Word (1 Peter 2:2).

4. We are to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to others (Acts 1:8).

5. We are to pray always. That is, to live in a constant attitude of prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

6. We are to pray in the Holy Spirit, letting Him have control of our thought life in prayer (Jude 20).

7. We are to receive help from the Holy Spirit when we do not know how to pray (Romans 8:26).

8. We should join ourselves with a body of believers and regularly attend worship (Hebrews 10:25).

9. We should remember that Jesus loved the Church (Ephesians 5:25).

10. We should give to God freely (2 Corinthians 9:7).
