The Faculty Artist Concert Series at the University of Indianapolis presents Songs You Thought You Knew with Mitzi Westra & Rebecca Edie!Every voice teacher has a long list of songs that are pedagogically useful for teaching concepts, languages, and technique to beginning singers. However, these songs are not only for beginners, but they are lovely pieces outside of their pedagogical aspects. Mezzo soprano Mitzi Westra and pianist Rebecca Edie revisit some of the standard repertoire for beginning singers to bring a new perspective and remind us why these beautiful songs are still being used in teaching today.
This performance is free to attend and open to the public. No tickets required.
LP credit is available for UIndy students who attend this performance.
